Sorry we have been so bad at keeping this updated lately. I had a few people tell me that it hadn't been updated for a while, but i didn't realise that it had been over a year!
Wow, what has happened in the last year? We had a baby girl last September. She was born in a pool at home on September 29th, about 3 hours late for her daddy's birthday. She weighed 9 lbs (yep....9 lbs) and her name is Zoe Josephine Conway. It seems like so long ago now. She's trying really hard to crawl now, and she's really getting interactive and a lot of fun. Daisy loves being a big sister most of the time!
Daisy is doing great. She is a little princess now and loves anything pink. She got a box of dress-up clothes for her 3rd birthday and wore the dresses around the house every day for at least 4 months - she actually didn't want to leave the house to play because she would rather stay home and wear her dresses. She has since realised that she is still a princess in her little Easter dress and any other dress with flowers on it, so we are able to go out a bit more :)
And.....we bought a house! It kind of all happened really fast. We heard about how amazingly cheap foreclosures were going for in Priest River so we decided to have a look around. We came across a house that was going up for auction and I fell in love with it the first time we walked around the outside. So, we spent a month just thinking about the house and hoping that we would be able to get it for a good deal. We gave ourselves a limit and checked to see if we could get financing, had the house inspected, then just waited. There was a public viewing a few days before the auction and so many people showed up that I started to worry. There were also a lot of people at the actual auction, which was held at the house, and it was really scary with all of the fast auction talk going on, but when the highest bidder said $70,000 and they were waiting for a bid of $75,000, Colin said $71,000.....and we got it!!!! Four bedroom, 2 bathroom, 3/4 acre fenced yard, and it only needed a little bit of cosmetic work :) So, we painted and decorated for a month (I've realised it takes longer with two little girls!) and we're all in now. We are loving being back in town and able to walk everywhere again, and our yard is fantastic. Daisy loves playing out there and picking flowers, and there is even still enough room for her to ride her quad bike. As everything is starting to bloom now, we are finding out what all we have out there, too. Apple trees, cheery trees, pear trees (I think), strawberries, raspberries, a weeping willow, and all sorts of beautiful trees - it is so pretty. Oh, and a built in sand (gravel) pit and horseshoes! We are loving it :)
Anyway, things have changed a lot for us in the last year, and it's all good :)
So, I'm going to try to load some photos in the next few days, and a video of Daisy's ballet debut. She is our little free-form ballet dancer and managed to make a memorable impression on an audience of at least a couple hundred people - tears of joy by all. Spot the little girl who makes faces in the mirror through her ballet classes!
Cheers,
Mandi
