We just got our plumbing fixed so that the outdoor taps (hydrants to the locals) work. Now we can water our garden (yard) and vegetable patch (garden) without having to run a hose from the kitchen tap (faucet).
It was a very nice guy called Rod, from Avalanche Plumbing and Rooter Services, who did the work. We had another company come out and want to lay new pipes out to the taps at a cost of about $2k-2.5k, but Rod just took out a one way valve (check valve) from where there shouldn't have been one. I don't know how much he charged for that (because Bev is paying) but I bet it was considerably less. I'd recommend him to anyone.
So now we're all excited to try watering things but it's raining (for the first time in a few weeks), so we'll just have to wait. =)
On a different subject we took Marley back to the shelter on Monday. She was alright, but we just don't have the time to take her for the amount of walks she needs. She needs to run about a lot, but we can't let of off the lead because she runs off until she's finished exploring. Also I didn't really get on with the whole dog face on my groin whenever I step outside, the chewing up anything that isn't more than 3 feet up, the digging holes in the garden, etc. We gave it a good go, 2 months, but it wasn't working out.
My Mum and Dad are coming over in about 1 month, we're pretty excited. We can't wait to show them all the cool stuff out here. Hopefully we'll have time to go to Yellowstone Park, but we're not sure.
Ok, I think the rain has stopped, so I might go and chainsaw some stuff. =)
