Well we've been in the new flat for a few weeks now. It's starting to feel like a home at last. The first week was ok, the place was pretty much empty. Then we moved all our stuff in. We didn't realise jus how much we have. You really couldn't move for boxes and stuff everywhere.
To make things even more chaotic we decided to change the kitchen, so we took out the existing one straight away in order for the new gas pipe for the cooker to be installed. We got all the cabinets, electris and plumbing finished last at the weekend, now we're trying to get someone to come and fit the worktop for us (there's an awkward join we want done nicely). We've got a guy coming to have a look tonight, so hopefully he can do it this weekend. Then we can get the sink in, and the tiles on the wall. Also need to put down the new floor.
Once the kitchen's finished I can get on with the of other things that we want to do. Mandi has been busy painting the flat (using special non-toxic paints), I had to finish the bits she couldn't reach last night.
My Dad's been great helping with the DIY, and Mum is making a loose cover for the sofa. Dad and I boarded out the loft area on Sunday, and we managed to get all the boxes and stuff into it. This meant we could paint the living room. So tonight we'll start on getting the boxes back out of the loft so we can unpack them.
On another note, the bump is getting really huge. It's sticking it bum out a lot, and shoving it feet into Mandi's ribs still. It manages to make some very interesting shapes out of her stomach. We had a scary moment on Saturday evening, we thought Mandi had gone into labour, thankfully it was just Braxton HIcks, or some other pains. We're not quite ready for him/her to pop out just yet, we want to get the flat in order first. Not long now though. =)
