We had a great trip back to the States to see my family. It was fun to surprise Rod at his 60th birthday party....and boy, was he surprised to see us. For some reason he thought having a baby would make us settle down and stay put for a while :) We were also able to surprise my friend Lynn for her birthday in Seattle on the way back, and had a fantastic dinner out with her and Brian.
It was nice to be able to introduce Daisy to my family. She smiled at Grandpa Doug immediately when he picked us up from the airport :) It was also nice to see some of the snow. As per usual, it started melting the day after we got there, but there was so much there, it was still cool.....and very cold.
We got a lot of great tips on making Daisy happy (or happier) from Aunt Ann, which was nice. We also stocked up on baby clothes for Daisy, as it's so much cheaper to buy them in the States. We bought what we thought would last her first year, but I had her measured on Wednesday, and she's 3cm longer than average for her age. I've had to start putting her in 6 month clothes already!
Colin and I both got fantastic facial's from Mom to help us relax, and I got a massage from Erin as well, so a lot of pampering and relaxation was had :)
It was great to be in Idaho as always, but I have to say it's nice to be home and back into a bit of a routine with Daisy. The jet lag wasn't a lot of fun, but we've got that sorted out now and it's all good. Daisy's been practicing push ups - getting ready for crawling! It was very exciting today.....she ROLLED OVER three times in a row!
I've added more photos from our trip, and you'll find them in the 'Our Events' section.
Thanks to everyone for your hospitality in the States. Can't wait to see you all over here one day!
